Devin has always been interested in Animation, possibly because drawing has always been easier for him than talking. When he was younger, he was inspired by Disney, Chuck Jones’ Looney Tunes cartoons, DC animated shows, and more recently Seth McFarland’s Family Guy. The action, humor and wild and fantastic stories of these cartoons excited him and showed him the power of creating stories.
He is also interested in acting for theater, voices and singing in his films, his shows and for other filmmakers. When he was younger, he was inspired by musical Theater, Plays, Shakespeare and Cinematic live action movies and shows. Growing up, he saw musical plays and his first musical play was the National Tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and since then he saw more of them such as The Lion King, A Christmas Carol, Shrek The Musical, Hamilton, Cats, Wicked, The Book of Mormon and more recently, Frozen the Musical. When he was a boy, his first play that he watched on a direct video that was filmed in a theatrical stage was an Israeli musical play called The Jungle Book. The strongest, humor and very touching musicals and cinematic performances excited him and showed him the power of performance to relate any characters to play.
Devin has learning disabilities and is on the autism spectrum. Growing up with autism has invariably influenced his approach to art. His 2D animation work is influenced by Disney and superhero shows. His acting and singing development is influenced by Screen and Stage actors. His unique approach is to bring a sense of humor and his own personal sensitivities to his animation film making and acting performance.
